Kathy Campbell to Seek Legislative Seat
Former Lancaster County Commissioner Kathy Campbell announced today that she intends to run for the Nebraska Legislature next year, seeking the 25th Legislative seat presently held by Senator Ron Raikes. Senator Raikes cannot seek another term due to term limits.
Mrs. Campbell is currently the Executive Vice President of the CEDARS
Home for Children Foundation.
As a community leader, Kathy Campbell also serves at the Vice Chairman of the Lincoln Electric System Board, on the Leadership Lincoln Board of Directors and is a member of the BryanLGH Medical Center Board of Trustees.
In 2005, Kathy was the Co-Chair of the LPS Student Housing Task Force which led to her Co-Chairing the passage of the largest school bond issue in Lincoln history ($250 Million) for building renovations and new school buildings, with no tax increase.
Kathy and her husband, Dick along with their family are celebrating Campbell’s Nurseries 95 years of business in the Lincoln community. Their children have joined in building this fourth generation business. Andrew Campbell serves as the Manager of the Landscape Design Department and Carrie Campbell Grimes is the Development Director for Village Gardens.
Kathy will hold a formal announcement later in the year.
